Located directly off the front entrance, it was important to that this kitchen look inviting and attractive. The cabinet style and color matches the furnishings throughout the house, while the tile floor and room layout draw you into this space. For the cook in the home, I incorporated top of the line Viking double ovens and cooktop, with a large sink on the peninsula work area. Display cabinets and art glass pendants, along with a large pantry disguised as an armoire and cabinet panels on the refrigerator, continue the furniture look. A personal touch was added to the backsplash: the color scheme was determined by a hand-made Mexican tile used as the center piece over the cooktop. The glass tile border set into the slate floor tiles is repeated as an accent in the backsplash. The final touch that brings it all together is the choice of wall colors – dramatic purple and green picked up from the tile colors adds a perfect back drop to this warm space.
