A spacious but outdated home was transformed into a retreat-like residence, a place for both relaxation and inspiration. My clients love contemporary art and design, and asked for a singular expression of their taste and aesthetic. And that it not be ordinary.
Now everywhere one looks are bold washes of color, unique resin inserts in doors, cork floors, Italian art glass lighting, and even a dog shower!
The kitchen is completely unexpected, from the boxy wall cabinets, open space, and huge island, to the metal backsplash tile “breaking apart” like shavings from an etch-a-sketch. The kitchen fireplace wall has custom alcoves and mantel piece. A mantel piece that is taken to it’s extra large extreme over the custom mosaic fireplace surround in the living room.
